It almost looks like my skull after a night of heavy partying, haha.

Did you draw any kind of outline or template to follow, or did you just drill them all freehand?

Good question Tatman: I sketched an out line on the reverse and freehanded the placement of the holes.

Nice, I had a feeling you incorporated some kind of pattern just to help. This gives me new ideas. If I follow through on any of them then I'll be sure to share the final results.
